The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has scheduled on May 28, 2021 a second hearing regarding its re-sentencing regulations which categorically deny anyone convicted of a sex offense from re-sentencing opportunities. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. and be held by telephone only. In order to participate in the May 28 hearing, call 1-877-411-9748 and enter participant code 7405289.
“This second hearing is being held because many people who wished to address the re-sentencing regulations did not have an opportunity to speak during the first hearing held earlier this month,” stated ACSOL Executive Director Janice Bellucci. “It is unfortunate that CDCR scheduled this second hearing the day before a major holiday and failed to provide adequate notice of the hearing date.”
During the first hearing on this topic, no one was able to speak for at least 20 minutes due to technical difficulties caused by the agency. CDCR subsequently abruptly ended that hearing despite the fact that many people had not yet been provided an opportunity to speak.
“If you are interested in these regulations, please participate in this week’s hearing,” stated Bellucci. “It may be the last opportunity to oppose these regulations which are inconsistent with the legislation that created re-sentencing opportunities for thousands of people in custody.”

Ugh. “Technical difficulties”. Is this like when cops “forget” to turn on their body cams? Sounds like they just wanted to minimize people speaking as much as possible.
It is truly unfortunate that CDCR failed to notify the public regarding its second hearing on the re-sentencing regulations. That is, CDCR did not send notices of any kind to those who submitted written comments regarding the regulations. Instead, ACSOL found out earlier today that the public hearing will be held two days from now. We found out because we sent an inquiry to the CDCR official who led the first hearing and asked (1) whether there would be a second hearing and (2) if so, what is the date of that hearing. This late notice plus the fact that the date of the second hearing is on the day before a three-day holiday weekend raises the question: is CDCR hoping that no one will show up on Friday. PLEASE SHOW UP! CDCR needs your input. Reschedule meetings if you need to. Wait a few hours before you start your holiday weekend because if you don’t, CDCR will get away with failing to listen to what the public has to say.
I’m pro law enforcement but the CDCR I’m developing a real hatred for. I’m self-employed and these last minute things are absolutely impossible for me to field or participate in at the last moment. I’m sick of the games they keep playing knowing full well people are out there making a living and unable to participate accordingly. As an RSO We get treated with the least amount of consideration. There’s apparently no equal justice under the law.
I’m at present in the process of trying to get my case back into court I currently do not have a reoffending case or history of anything whatsoever that’s a requirement for SOT I’m in Humboldt county California
I’ve been dealing with CDCR for quite some time now I’m on my second number in my experience they can be animistic
Department of Corrections and rehabilitation should not be in the same title nor sentence. If Correctional facilities look the other way while an inmate is assaulted, raped, and murdered often times encouraged by guards that is neither, it’s corruption at its core.
Not surprised the CDCR tried to pull a fast one on sex offenders the DOJ has closed every loophole they could find to make sure no sex offender is able to go free and live a normal life.
I never thought in a million years a sex offender would qualify for re sentencing and from the looks of things i was right. California’s new Tier Law takes effect in about 35 days i cant wait to see how this all plays out this is gonna be interesting
Good luck 💀
